Patriots Day is a 2016 American drama movie about the Boston Marathon bombings and chase to arrest the two Islamic terrorists. It was directed by Peter Berg and written by Berg, Matt Cook, and Joshua Zetumer. The movie is based on the book Boston Strong by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge.

It stars Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, J.K. Simmons, Michelle Monaghan, James Colby and Alex Wolff with Lana Condor.

It was released in Boston on December 21, 2016 and worldwide on January 13, 2017.[1] It had strong good reviews with an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.[2]
