Ian co-founded SME in 2009 with the ambition to build an Enterprise class
Cloud File Server platform which was focused on usability with any storage,
or combination of storage clouds, native access from any desktop or
mobile OS, combined with the management and governance of cloud data.
Over the prior 15 years Ian was the International Executive in 4 VC backed start ups, which he helped, build and exit including an IPO in 2000 with Versata.
Dan Stone

Dan has been a technology professional for more than 25 years.
His experience includes software product development and management, technical
consulting, and senior IT management roles at Lehman Brothers, Barclays
Capital and Standard Bank. He has lived and worked in New York, Tokyo, London and Prague.
Dan holds a bachelor's degree in Computing Science from Columbia
University and an MBA from Fordham University.
Jim Liddle

Prior to SME, Jim was European Sales and Operations Director
for GigaSpaces after joining the company in 2006 to help expand its
European operations.
Before GigaSpaces Jim was the European General Manager for Versata, a NASDAQ listed business process and rules management company. During his 6 years at Versata, Jim also worked in technical, product management, and product marketing roles.

James Norman
Head of Engineering
Prior to SME James was a senior developer at Sony, working in their PlayStation team. He has a background and Bsc in Software Engineering having graduated from Oxford Brookes University. James has been with SME since 2016.

Doug has held director roles for SwiftStack and Cloudian, both leaders in on-premises object storage. Doug's focus has been to build solutions, enabling end users to seamlessly consume next generation Cloud APIs. His passion stems from experiencing first hand the challenges of today's IT professionals as CIO of Budd Van Lines for 10+ years.
A noted speaker and panelist, he has conducted sessions at AWS Re:Invent, VMworld, OpenStack Summit and Citrix Synergy. As Director of Product Solutions, Doug looks to solve the "Last Mile" problem - issues experienced when consuming today's mix of private and public Cloud storage.
