Great little sandwich shop!! I absolutely love how fresh my sandwich tasted. I definitely love the dutch crunch bread option!!! My entire family enjoyed each of their sandwiches.

Grubbin' was a fortuitous Yelp find for me, and it has become my absolute favorite sandwich in the world.
I always get the same thing: a Grubbin' on Dutch Crunch.
I have no idea what kind of magic they are putting on their sandwich, but I swear, it is magical. Every bite is more delicious than I remember. Even when I am sitting there eating the sandwich, each time I take a bite I feel like I'm experiencing the taste for the first time.
I've never experienced anything like it. The taste is so good that I can't hang onto it. It slips away even as I eat it.
I don't live in the City any more, but when I come back to my City by the Bay I will be eating at Grubbin'. You can bet on that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 13 dec. 2023Uppdaterad recension
Tasty delectable toasted sandwiches made fresh to order at this great little sandwich shop. Friendly, enthusiastic service from the folks here every time!
Located on Taraval Street in the Outer Sunset, one will find not just one, not two, but three different sandwich shops within a few blocks of each other. All are good and great at their own specialties, but I find myself returning to Grubbin' over and over again.
Order by just calling them up on the phone, and walk or drive or catch the L-Taraval train/bus that stops right across the street from their front door. Skip those delivery apps that rip off small businesses like these..
I come here for my favorite sandwich that I save for special occasions - no, not for big events like birthdays or big anniversaries, but for those days when you either want to celebrate a bit or need a special treat after a long week..
Typical sandwich shop storefront vibe, with a couple of casual sit down tables and chairs inside, but most folks grab 'n go, as you would expect.
My favorite here is the "Sweet Mouth Waterin'" Sandwich. Served on a crunchy yet soft on the inside Dutch Crunch Roll, the SMW is Grubbin's rendition of a non-spicy fried chicken sandwich with thick chunks of chicken breast meat dipped in batter and deep fried, accompanied with honey mustard and the standard sides (that come with all of their sandwiches of lettuce, tomato, onions, and their trademark "grub sauce" which I think is a little like "Thousand Island Dressing" perhaps.. put that all together and you've got a filling meal even before you get to your potato chips.
Of course there are plenty of other meaty sandwich choices and all-veggie ones if that is more your speed. Tater tots too!! Also, the usual selection of Frito Lays chips are here, but their best chips are the Tim's Cascade Chips from the PNW.. Tim's Honey BBQ is awesome!
Pro Tip: If you decide to become a regular here like me, be sure to get a rewards card that gets stamped for every sandwich you order from here. Once you have ten stamps, you get a sandwich of your choice totally for free - and gladly too!! A nice perk, and super when you are the one who orders up food for your friends/coworkers.. You'll get that free sandwich in no time!
Proud to be a regular here! =). They still don't know me, but they are happy to fill my orders!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 127 mars 2014Föregående recensionPretty darn good! I'm definitely coming back here.
I went by there tonight, and while they are still putting on the final touches for the lighting and dining area, I was able to order up one of their "juicin' sandwiches. Translation: juicin = turkey, avocado, bacon & fresh onions with their pesto aioli on a roll of your choice. Given my previous experiences with rather mediocre sandwich places on this side of town, my expectations were somewhat low going in.. But the sandwich here was clearly several levels above any typical chain sandwich shop, and better than any usual mom & pop type of place.
Fresh ingredients. No skimping on the meat, shredded lettuce, Toasted Dutch crunch bread, and a complimentary soft drink or free bottled water too. $8.60 out the door for a 9" long big TASTY sandwich.
Friendly service too!
Yep.. I'll be back for the tater tots next time!! - 3 okt. 2023
My first time here. Very convenient to our house. We preordered and the 6 of us sat in their restaurant after
Picking up. Ordered a hot pastrami with everything on it. It had a little
Spice. Great sandwich to share on Dutch crunch.
Sandwich was comparable to Freddie's sandwich in north beach but smaller than Little Luca's.

High 3 low 4. Guys were chill so overall a 4.
I came on a weekday right when they opened
Ordered the grubbin on Dutch but they ran out of bacon. MINUS 1 here. How can you not have bacon one of the more important ingredients in a sandwich?
Taste - good, the aioli sauce makes the sandwich good or elsethe meats are a bit dry and no bacon (SMH)!!
The Dutch sandwich has a slight hint of sweetness which was fine. Good price point for a filling sandwichHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joy S.San Francisco, USA132241415 aug. 2024
This is one of our go-to sandwich spots. Really good sweet roll. The guy at the register (I think the owner) is super nice!

Beau and I were craving for some Pastrami sandwiches midweek and decided to do a quick takeout Doordash order from Grubbin' nearby.
We've tried other local sandwich spots for their Pastrami sandwiches so it was natural for us to compare the quality. For the responsiveness they are to taking, processing and delivering our order, Grubbin' gets a 5/5. For the quality, it was more of a 3/5.
Droolin' (Pastrami) Sandwich - 3/5 Using a super crispy Dutch Crunch roll, there's plenty of pastrami, provolone, and lettuce in this sandwich. It is a bit smaller than typical sandwich portions would be, I'd wish they have quantity options (ie: 6 oz or 12 oz). Great concept of Dutch Crunch with pastrami which still left us really full at the end but honestly the crunch roll was baked too crispy and hard. It wasn't a crispy smooth bite. The dressing to lettuce ratio was the perfect amount though.
Chicken Tenders & Fries - 3/5 The fries were super nice and crispy which we liked. I think it had a little too much salt though. By the time we received the order, the saltiness had settled on the fries and the crispiness had made the fries feel overdried. The chicken tenders were fried perfectly. I just wish they came in a bigger portion. I'd often order chicken tenders from other locations paying about the same price and the portions were much more generous.
For the price and convenience, Grubbin' isn't too bad of a spot to grab -and -go. However, there's definitely better pastrami sandwiches out there if you're willing to ay for an extra $1 -2.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 16 juli 2023
Hands down my favorite sandwich joint. Give me that Grubbin it sandwich any day of the year!
The Dutch crunch is my choice of bread as it just enhance the texture profile of the sauce and deli meats to a whole new level.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kitty O.San Francisco, USA14 apr. 2024

Was in SF for Stern Grove's last show this summer, very determined to find some quick food beforehand. Once the shop opened, I was immediately enticed by the smell of delicious food! Lots of natural light at this location, always a plus.
Each time I visit a sandwich shop with unique recipes, I am blown away by the creativity. My choice ended up being spicy mouth waterin and my mouth definitely watered. That grub sauce is so delightfully savoury, chicken strips were succulent, and their dutch crunch was toasted to perfection. Ya girl is a dutch crunch elitist, trrrrust me on this one for extra tang, I requested peperoncinis which took it to the next level!
Workers were super efficient, and everyone definitely has that Taraval small business charm.
Can't wait to visit againHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
