With the city at their feet and a lavish wedding on the horizon, anything could happen...

Dougal is a naive, impossibly upbeat Brit, flying to New York for his Dad’s second wedding. The Dad he’s never known.

Waiting for him at the airport is Robin, the sister of the bride. She’s a native New Yorker, she’s late for work, and she doesn’t have time to stop and see the sights.

Instant attraction? Definitely not.

But with an extravagant wedding approaching and the city at their feet…anything could happen.

A new British musical from writers Jim Barne and Kit Buchan.

Criterion Theatre Best Seats and Seating Plan

Criterion Theatre Best Seats and Seating Plan

Initially intended as a concert hall, the Criterion Theatre first opened in 1873 and is the only West End Theatre that is sited almost entirely underground level - the Upper Circle in the auditorium isn’t even at street level! Ten years after opening the theatre underwent renovations in order to meet new standards of ventilation enforced by the Metropolitan Board of Works. The building, excluding the auditorium, was rebuilt extensively between 1989 and 1992 but the auditorium was in good condition so wasn’t included in the refurbishment and remains original.

What are the best seats at the Criterion Theatre?

The Criterion Theatre auditorium seats 588 over the three levels of its auditorium, consisting of Stalls, Dress Circle and Upper Circle. The front rows in the stalls offer a good view of the stage, although it is to be noted that this area of seating is not steeply raked. The Dress Circle again offers good views of the stage, other than the designated restricted viewing seats which are due to the number of pillars in this section supporting the Upper Circle. The Upper Circle provides unrestricted views of the stage from all seats.

Two strangers continue to carry cake across New York

We hope that Sam Tutty and Dujonna Gift have packed their Compeed and have some Deep Heat to hand, because they’ll be carrying that cake across New York for a whole extra month!

Following its record-breaking run at the Kiln Theatre earlier this year, the British musical packed their (revolving) suitcases and headed to the Criterion Theatre. Now, just three days after their West End opening, the brand-new British musical has announced its extension! This sweet treat of a show will now run until the 31 August (instead of the previously scheduled 14 July).
