I must say teaching this mechanical signalling from an install and test background is really really difficult. I want to show X y z but that isn't in the remit. The remit is faulting and maintenance. Unfortunately this aligns to testing in general..... how the flip (yes I'm being polite for a change), how the flip, can any body test if they don't know how to install the equipment? I personally work from the ground up, I want to know how the railway is built and why. Only then I can test the thing!

Wow, not an easy watch, but I think it's important young people see this. "Network Rail is issuing a stark warning to the public about railway safety as it publishes a hard-hitting film about a 13-year-old boy who jumped the level crossing barriers in Hounslow when they were closed." There are so many 'hidden' dangers on the railway that aren't as obvious as a train, education is so important!

"Simple job, we just need you to remove some point rodding so Civils can do some Civils work, then put it back and test." The words "simple job", immediately along with the fact it is related to railway, gives you an indication of the true nature of the job! LOL! 5 hours to build up the cess, lift the heights of 1 ton (yes only slightly over engineered) concrete blocks for the rollers (10 blocks in total), bolt the rollers to the concrete blocks, move rodding joints so they didn't clash with the rollers, cut new rodding, fix the cranks to the concrete blocks, test the points. Simples.... 😂 Well done to everybody on site of various disciplines all mucking in to get it done. #BuildingRailways #MechanicalSignalling
