City Guides, Offline Maps (for iPhone) Review

City Guides, Offline Maps (for iPhone), also known as Stay.com's iPhone app, lets you create customized city guides and save them locally to your phone, so that you can access the information while traveling while not picking up any roaming charges.

The app has the same list of cities to explore as Stay.com, which spans the world but seems more focused on the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

When you find a point of interest, restaurant, or hotel you're interesting in saving to your guide, you can open it to read about it, then hit "Add to guide" or mark it as a place you've been. If you enter star ratings, they are aggregated with others users' data.

City Guides, Offline Maps (for iPhone) lets you save maps locally, which may be the app's best feature. Spots you've saved to your guide appear in purple, while all the that are logged in the app are marked in blue.

Some sharing features are included in City Guides, Offline Maps (for iPhone). You can send most tidbits to Twitter and Facebook, but you can also invite others to collaborate on your intineraries.
