Kim Kardashian was struggling with a skin issue that itched, burned, and covered her face mere days before 2022's Met Gala. According to People, the Skims founder revealed issues with her skin in the days leading up to the extravagant event on a recent podcast, citing a spot "really close to her eye."

"It started to cover my face, and there was a spot really close to my eye, and it would just burn a little bit. I remember I had the Met Ball coming up that week and it was covering my face." The entertainment icon detailed desperation, explaining that she'd struggled with psoriasis (a chronic, long-lasting disease in which the immune system becomes overactive, causing skin cells to multiply too quickly, according to The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases) before, but not on her face.

Dermatologists questioned whether or not stress played an role in the flare, but ultimately, it came down to The Kardashian star's diet (per Allure).

"Psoriasis broke out over my body and I got psoriatic arthritis, so I couldn't really move my hands. I had to go to a rheumatologist who put me on a steroid. I was freaking out. I cut out the meat again, and it calmed down. I think I manage my stress pretty well, so it's shocking to me." At the time, Kardashian had just finalized her divorce with former husband Kanye West, and was dating Pete Davidson.

The beloved mother-of-four took to the red carpet without a trace of skin problems (as seen in the above photo), thanks to concealer and her talented makeup artist.

"We did put on concealer. And I remember him vividly saying, 'It's so crazy that your makeup is holding really well on it.' So he wasn't concerned." While the reality TV standout tried "everything she possibly could" to reduce the flare before the Met Gala, some days, she just lets her psoriasis go.

“Sometimes I get super insecure about it and I put body makeup on. And sometimes I'm just like, I really don't care."
