Neighbors Work Together To Save Man From Suspected Overdose

Community members in Albuquerque recently came together to help a man who’d crashed his vehicle.

Drugs sitting in his lap led his rescuers to believe the crash was, in part, due to an overdose, so they administered a dose of Narcan, likely saving the man’s life.

During the incident, Sarah Nazorek, a local advocate for the Keep NM Alive campaign, was reminded of her own traumatic experience when she had to use Narcan to save her son from an overdose.

After losing her son to fentanyl, Nazorek now promotes awareness about the life-saving potential of the overdose-prevention drug.

Since 2022, the Keep NM Alive initiative has been collaborating with local schools and officials to provide education and information, in the hopes of saving lives.
