The Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners begin an important three-game series Tuesday night at T-Mobile Park in a battle of American League division leaders.
The Orioles lead the Yankees by percentage points atop the AL East after a home series victory over the defending World Series champion Rangers this past weekend. Seattle, meanwhile, will continue its nine-game home stand as the M's try to snap a two-game slide following a pair of losses over the weekend to the Twins.

The Orioles knocked off the Mariners in two of three games at Camden Yards in mid-May as Baltimore led by multiple runs in each contest. The lone Seattle victory came in the middle game of that series as Seattle erased a 2-0 deficit in a 4-3 win.
The starting pitcher for Baltimore in that defeat on May 18 was right-hander Grayson Rodriguez, who has another shot at Seattle on Tuesday night, coming off a 4-2 win against Cleveland in his last outing. The 2018 first-round pick allowed two earned runs or fewer for the fourth time in five starts, while Baltimore improved to 4-1 in those games.
In Rodriguez's last start away from Camden Yards, he was torched by the Astros by yielding seven runs in five innings of a 14-11 loss on June 21, increasing his road ERA to 5.35. That number is nearly three runs higher than his home ERA, which sits at 2.27, but the O's have plated seven runs or more in six of his road outings.
Baltimore moved back to the top of the AL East despite sustaining a five-game losing streak in late June but managed to save face with four consecutive wins before getting routed by Texas on Sunday night, 11-2.

The Mariners have seen their advantage atop the AL West shrink to three games ahead of the streaking Astros heading into Tuesday's action. Houston has won 10 of its past 11 games, while Seattle has slumped to a 3-8 mark in the last 11 contests to make this division race interesting heading towards the All-Star break.
Seattle has actually been pretty automatic in home series openers in the first five innings this season, posting an incredible 10-0-2 mark in the last 12 opportunities. Eight times over that stretch, the Mariners have not allowed a run in the first five innings, which includes Friday night's win over the Twins.
George Kirby went through a pair of rough starts in the Beltway in late May by allowing a total of 10 runs and four home runs in losses at Baltimore and Washington.
However, Kirby has bounced back since the bombardments on the Beltway, as the Mariners are 5-1 in his last six trips to the hill. Kirby has allowed two fewer runs in this six-start span than he did in those two outings in Baltimore and Washington, which included wins over the Royals, Rays and Astros.
In his last five home starts, Kirby is 4-0-1 in the first five innings, while giving up one run or less four times. Overall, Seattle has put together a 6-1 record in Kirby's seven starts at T-Mobile Park this season.
