BJ Cunningham

BJ Cunningham is a writer for The Action Network specializing in European Soccer, College Football and MLB. He also appears on Action's Wondergoal and Payoff Pitch podcasts.

Cunningham started betting 14 years ago as a freshman in college, and got his first job as a part-time contract writer for Action in January 2020.10 months later, he was hired full-time. Before joining Action in 2020, he worked as a financial auditor in the Des Moines area for six years. 

Over the last two years, Cunningham has taken a deeper dive into the tactics of European soccer and how they can be applied to the betting market and be integrated with the advanced data on a team. Betting markets are constantly changing and getting more efficient, so he is always looking deeper into his methods and projections to ensure he is consistently not only making +EV bets but getting closing line value as well. 

Cunningham graduated from Central College in Pella, Iowa with a degree in accounting and minors in business management and Spanish. He played baseball and tennis during his time at Central College.
