How it works
A step-by-step guide for every type of creator
Agents & Publishers
Whether you’re an agent representing an author or a publisher with the rights to several titles, ACX is an ideal way to expand your reach.
Step 1
Get started with your title
Claim your title First, the audio rights holder—usually the author or publisher—creates a free account to claim their title on ACX. The ACX account holder must have the audio rights, and it must be available as an eBook on Amazon in order to claim it on ACX. (Find out how to publish an eBook.)
Find your narrator Once the title is claimed, create a title profile to receive auditions from narrators. You’ll upload an audition script with a detailed description of the project and performance notes for narrators to use for their submissions. You can also search for narrators and make an offer.
If you already have the narration, simply upload the completed audio files and submit them to our experienced team of Quality Assurance (QA) engineers for review. Either way, we’ll walk you through each step of the process.
Step 2
Work with your narrator
Decide on payment terms Work with your narrator to decide on payment terms that work for you both. You can pay by the finished hour, arrange to split royalties, or opt for a hybrid.
Collaborate to make it real Armed with your character directions and performance notes, your ACX narrator is responsible for narrating and producing a retail-ready title in full as your creative partner. There are built-in checkpoints along the way for you to give additional feedback and make adjustments.
When you’re happy with the finished product, submit it for QA. They’ll let you and your narrator know if any adjustments need to be made.
Step 3
Get your story out there
Put it in front of audiences Once your finished title passes QA, we’ll distribute it via Audible, Amazon, and iTunes—the world’s most popular listening destinations. Our full suite of marketing and promotional resources will help you continue to drive listener and revenue growth so your story gets heard and you get paid (monthly by check or direct deposit for any sales of your audiobook).
Track your sales and promote your title Use your sales overview to track sales and see projected earnings for all of your titles. Access promo codes to give free copies of your title to reviewers and fans to help you generate buzz and reviews.
