On Saturday, we knew something big was brewing with Kendall Jenner. Momager Kris Jenner took to Twitter to tease that fans should "#getready" for an announcement coming from her daughter on Sunday night. The next day, we learned the news — Kendall Jenner is the new face of Proactiv.

The Internet may have been expecting a more groundbreaking reveal — after all, it was about this time last year when Kylie Jenner introduced the world to baby Stormi in an 11-minute YouTube video. But even if the announcement didn't exactly break the Internet, we understand KJ's enthusiasm. After all, who among us hasn't wanted to shout our love of a new skin-care regimen from the rooftops?

Jenner's latest brand partnership does make a whole lot of sense. At last year's Golden Globes, attention turned to the state of Jenner's skin on the red carpet. She acknowledged the haters picking apart her pimples with a casually powerful reply: "Never let that shit stop you! 😎✨." Jenner's healthy attitude towards her skin makes her a great example for fans dealing with acne. It was only a matter of time before a skin-care brand noticed and wrote her a big sponsorship check.

In a video announcing the new partnership, Jenner talks about that infamous red carpet walk. "I loved my dress and my hair and my makeup was so beautiful," she says. "Then I read all the horrible things people were saying about me and my skin. I felt so good that I completely forgot that I had bad skin. Then I remember getting a couple tweets — that became a lot of tweets — of how proud people were of me." The fans helped shift Jenner's perspective on acne, she says, "but I still want it gone."

Some fans may have wanted more out of Jenner's "big" announcement, but it's important to remember there is power in accepting yourself and your skin for what it is. If Jenner inspires a few fans to do so, that's good enough for us.

"Kendall's story is unbelievably compelling, and most importantly – it’s real," Charles Ressler, Proactiv vice president of creative services, said in a statement. "Her skin transformation continues to be staggering, she loves Proactiv as much as we do, and most importantly she did this with her whole, very big, incredibly genuine heart."
