I decided to replace my old Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 that has a Super AMOLED display. It's circa 2018, so I thought the iPad Air M2 would be a big step-up, plus I've been an iPhone user for 10 years and thought I'd go exclusively with the iOS ecosystem. While the iPad is far superior in terms of speed, the screen size is the same size as my old S4. The display quality is no better than the S4, and most importantly, the apps I wanted to use were not as good as I hoped. I subscribe to some online papers that I read every day on the S4 via the browser. I thought the native apps on iOS would be superior, but they weren't. And finally, the app I really bought the iPad Air M2 for was Frame.io. Unfortunately, the app was only rated at three stars on the App Store and for the iPad version, only single star reviews. As per the reviews, I found Frame.io unusable on the iPad. The desktop application is so far superior that I couldn't take that step back. The iPad Air M2 is probably great if you're using Apple Apps that need a lot of computing power, but in my case, all my apps fell short, and I returned the iPad after less than three hours of use. While the iPad's performance is a quantum leap over my old S4, it wasn't worth the price for me, considering my apps weren't up to snuff. Your mileage my vary depending on the apps you use.
