Stuck With You: From the bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis Kindle Edition
From the New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes a new steamy, STEMinist novella...
Nothing like a little rivalry between scientists to take love to the next level.
Mara, Sadie, and Hannah are friends first, scientists always. Though their fields of study might take them to different corners of the world, they can all agree on this universal truth: when it comes to love and science, opposites attract and rivals make you burn...
Logically, Sadie knows that civil engineers are supposed to build bridges. However, as a woman of STEM she also understands that variables can change, and when you are stuck for hours in a tiny New York elevator with the man who broke your heart, you earn the right to burn that brawny, blond bridge to the ground. Erik can apologize all he wants, but to quote her rebel leader - she'd just as soon kiss a Wookiee.
Not even the most sophisticated of Sadie's superstitious rituals could have predicted such a disastrous reunion. But while she refuses to acknowledge the siren call of Erik's steely forearms or the way his voice softens when he offers her his sweater, Sadie can't help but wonder if there might be more layers to her cold-hearted nemesis than meet the eye. Maybe, possibly, even burned bridges can still be crossed...

About the author
Ali Hazelwood is a multi-published author—alas, of peer-reviewed articles about brain science, in which no one makes out and the ever after is not always happy. Originally from Italy, she lived in Germany and Japan before moving to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in neuroscience. She recently became a professor, which absolutely terrifies her. When Ali is not at work, she can be found running, crocheting, eating cake pops, or watching sci-fi movies with her two feline overlords (and her slightly-less-feline husband).

Maybe because this feels like a part 2 to Mara, Sadie and Hannah Trilogy. Maybe because I was slightly disappointed with Mara’s story.
This one is absolutely brilliant. It’s about two civil engineers that fall in love, but work for two competing companies. Everything goes well until Something goes wrong and Sadie hates Erik now…
Soon after these two get stuck in the elevator during the power cut…
Very funny and sweet story, but way too short!
This was my least favourite of the novellas, and that isn’t to say I didn’t love it, but it just didn’t click with me as well as the other two. I think a large part of that is, although Sadie and Erik are stuck together in an elevator, we actually don’t get enough time with them together for me to get invested in their relationship. I did love Sadie as a character, with her little superstitions and absolute distaste for the big conglomerate that Erik works for, and her ability to ice someone out after they hurt her is insane.
Another fun and fast novella, but I just didn’t feel the romance as much in this one as the other two.
A HUGE minus is that the author didn't make any research on European surnames. There is no possibility that Danish had Slavic surname. It's a Scandinavian country and their names have completely different structure.
As per usual, Ali has knocked it out of the park with this book. I’ve never felt more seen as a woman and it’s like Ali knows the exact way to make me fall in love with her characters. Erik is a dream and I can relate to Sadie so so much.
In fact, my only critique is that I wish this book were 500 pages longer. Can’t wait for the next one!
I also like they are STEM romances but that’s an aside.
In this one, Sadie and Erik have a meet cute over a terrible pastry and then spend the day falling in lust. When a misunderstanding causes Sadie to push Erik away, it does seem like the dream is over. Well, until they get stuck in a lift together.
I love Erik - the visual of him looking like Thor helped but there are hints that Erik is a very domineering boy (which I always like - I wonder if I’m right about what was going on with that bra??). Sadie I related too as she fully ran with her freak out (been there) but it also irritated the crap out of me. I suppose without her irrationality, there is no conflict so I’ll forgive it.
I can’t think of any CW BTW.
Overall, I will read this again and I can’t wait for the next book. I am enjoying this novella series.

I loved this even more than Under One Roof!! It was so good and fast to read! The second novella in the STEMinist series follows Sadie and Erik, rivals with a past, who end up stuck in an elevator together. It switches between the past and the present, while we try to figure out what happened.
“𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙙, 𝙪𝙣𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚.”
Erik totally gives me Draco vibes and I loved it! Cold, unmoving and intense blonde haired man who talks with his eyes. Yes please. I loved reading about him and Sadie.
“𝙄 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙀𝙧𝙞𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙄’𝙙 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙛𝙩—𝙍𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙅𝙚𝙙𝙞 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙧 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙮𝙡𝙚—𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙩𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙢.”
I loved the pacing of this book. It was easy to follow and enjoy. Moving back and forth from them being stuck in the elevator to their first encounter with subpar croissants. It was interesting to try and fit the puzzle pieces together on how Sadie no longer liked him and what he did to her.
“𝙄 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩. 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨.” 𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙨. “𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙄’𝙢 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨.”
Sadie is a very categorical person and it was cool to read about how her brain works and what she needs to do to make herself feel better about things (i.e eating bad pastries before a pitch or wearing purple underwear for luck).
“𝙋𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙄’𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚—𝙣𝙤, 𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙧, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙄 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚.”
I definitely giggled a couple times while reading. I love the banter and whit and humor that Ali Hazelwood writes in her books. She will be a forever author for me, always.
“𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪,” 𝙄 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙩. “𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙤, 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝.” “𝙉𝙖𝙝.” 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙄 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨, 𝙀𝙧𝙞𝙠’𝙨 𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙛𝙩. “𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤, 𝙎𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙚.”
