I've used this brush for a couple of weeks now. For reference I've used other Oral B electric brushes in the past as well as Philips and Colgate. To start with the positives, I find the brush to be a solid, weighty piece of equipment. I feel that I'm getting a thorough clean via the Daily Clean mode. I also like the design of the brush, though it's a shame the toothbrush head doesn't match the design of the body. There is a ring at the top of the brush that tells you whether you're using the right amount of pressure using red/white/green lights. You do get a smiley face on the digital brush screen that tells you that you've reached 2 minutes' brush time.

The negatives- the main irritation for me is that you need to have the base unit plugged in. I do have a shaver socket in my bathroom- not all homes do- but had a bad experience in the past using that outlet to charge a brush so am reluctant to plug in there. Now the base unit is meant to light up to show you which bits of your mouth still need brushing. Given this is in another room it isn't that helpful. You can also see brushing activities on the Oral B app but this obviously means taking your mobile into the bathroom which I'm not a fan of. The unit that the brush stands on has a magnet but it's not very strong so I can easily see the brush getting knocked off the side.

I think the brush would have been much better if they had just provided a battery powered smart guide to sit in the bathroom which they've done with previous models which I've loved.

So is it worth several hundred? Not in my case as it's more techy than I need or works for my circumstances.
