3.0 out of 5 starsIf you only have two children and the oldest one is less than five, this book is for you

Some of these seems to be written for parents who have only one child at the moment and are considering the issues that might be raised by having a second (there is a discussion about an ideal age gap between two kids, for example: in my case, too late! And they were twins!). Why you would read this book at that stage of your life, I can't imagine -- but kudos to you and I'm sure it will be useful (provided you only have a singleton pregnancy). Likewise if you have toddlers (only two, mind) then there are plenty of strategies in this book to help you. As someone facing sibling challenges with more than two children who are older than the pre-school age this is targeted at, I found the assumptions and strategies spoke less to me than I was hoping. There are undoubtedly good strategies in here, which I am sure will help other parents and will help me in parts-- but as a parent facing a tricky set of challenges the assumptions in this book were less than helpful. I wish the reviews had told me that if you have more than two siblings, and if your children are older than pre-schoolers, this might not be the book for you (unless you want to read several books, which as a time-starved parent I doubt you do).
