I recently purchased the Xbox Series X, and I am extremely impressed with its performance. This console offers incredible value for money with top-notch graphics and high-quality build. Shipped out in a foreign language

Had a battle to set this up, due to instructions for doing so, in a foreign language I didn't know or was able to understand. This console is advertised to be in English, but it wasn't it was in Polish (I later found out). After much head scratching and guess work I did manage to get it set up and guessed at where I could change the language setting to English. Once that was done it was plain sailing to check everything (there had been a lot of random button pressing, in the set up journey!). Not overly impressed with the console, compared to the hypes, it's just like the xbox one - no bells and whistles. Due to the language problem and the ordinariness of it, I felt it prudent to test it out to make sure I did actually have the x and not just a box with x box one in it. So, loaded Starfield onto it (exclusive to new gen xboxes) and away I went. A lot of time, worry and faffing about could have been saved if the thing had been shipped out in English as it was advertised.

Series X is fast but not much different than the older One X!

Now that the Xbox backlog is starting to clear I decided to purchase one. I had the older Xbox One X that has served me well for a number of years and I decided it's time for an upgrade. I must admit, the shape of it looks like a black shoe box and with its hefty size, I struggled putting it in the same place as my old Xbox, however the CD drive is covered with a centre speaker, but I don't intend the CD drive to be used much anyway. The box weighs a considerable amount. I'd say it was the weight of 2 of my previous Xbox X's due to the big slab of aluminium inside that is used as a cooler. The heat that bellows from the top when using the xbox is quite hot. I'd say this alone would warm my room in the winter without putting any heating on.
The upside of this xbox is the loading speed. It loads games far faster than previous models. The graphics would be on a similar par to all other 4k xboxes so don't expect any improvements in how games display. It has a 1TB SSD drive that can be expanded via an expansion card in the back of it, but at the moment the biggest card you can get is just 1TB so I'm using a 6TB HDD that I had on my previous Xbox for storage and any Series X games can be copied or moved to the internal SSD for added speeds (this xbox can't load fast enough from HDD's to run from an external drive).
The downside is the 1TB SSD cards are quite expensive and Seagate have the monopoly on them. Microsoft seem to think that 1TB is a fantastic amount of memory, thus only having 1TB cards as upgrades. I think 1TB is nothing nowadays and should be fitted with at least 4TB from factory. The heat that bellows out from the top of this is very warm so this needs to be somewhere where air can get to it. It would benefit from being on a shelf or on top of a cupboard or TV stand in order for air circulation. I can see them suffering with heat stress if they are enclosed or inadequately situated.
I think the new Series X is a good bit of kit but it really isnt that much different from the older Xbox One X. My advice would be to buy or keep your older Xbox X as this really isn't that much of an upgrade and in my opinion not worth the money to upgrade from an Xbox One X

So let's start off with the positive. The Xbox series x is a vast improvement on the previous generation. My son loves it, shorter loading times, improved graphics and sound....plus it's not a stupid shape like the PS5 so easy to position on or under a desk.
Now onto the negative. It was delivered in a crushed box. Then, upon opening it on Christmas day we saw a nice chip in the plastic of the console. There was no way it was going back for my son to be disappointed so we will have to live with it. Yes its only cosmetic but it's not cheap and I do expect better quality.

bought this console as it was cheaper than any other store (first red flag) secondly, they sent me an eu plug so i had to use my old ps4 plug to use it. the games dont work especially backwards compatibility. there is massive input delay, i move my character and it takes less then a second to register. i know thats not a bad thing but when you play online games it is a big deal. whenever i turn it on it says i need to connect to the network even though it works on everything. it’s just a bad console

The load times for games is super quick and I also noticed that I can now download games at nearly 1gb per second whereas my old Xbox got to a max of around 200mb. Super happy with the upgrade!

Games crashed 2 weeks after owning it. Amazon have been shocking with the returns process and nearly a month later I’ve still not got my money even though they have the item back.

It took five hours to load disc and the online graphics are poor almost cartoon like not worth the money I have play station four and Xbox one and now Xbox x series and in my opinion ps4 is still the best gaming console on the market very disappointing for Xbox series x I think I will be sending this console back

Xbox works great except I'm having one issue and only had it a day. I set it up before I left for work and when I finished work it took about 3 minutes to boot up and then told me it was connected to a wired network which it wasn't, which also prevented me from re connecting to the WiFi. I have tried so many things and nothing works and the only fix I've found is factory resetting the entire console but once you turn the xbox off and come back to it again it will do it yet again. I don't know if it was just a faulty one or a fault with a series x as seen a few people apparently have the same issue but it's a damn joke especially on a new console that costs nearly £500.

Bought specifically for entertaining myself with Flight Simulator. I am not a 'gamer' so I'm new to controllers. However, I find using FlightSimulator with the Xbox controller is virtually impossible .Microsoft clearly know this because one of the first things your are presented with in the basic training is that the system works better by spending even more money on a yoke. Maybe it does, but I have no confidence in Microsoft to believe that spending more money will make it more playable. Basically a waste of money from my perspective.
