Product Description
3M All Weather Flashing Tape 8067 is a self-adhered, waterproof flashing membrane designed for sealing around openings and penetrations in exterior walls. This product has a unique acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive that aggressively sticks and stays stuck both at lower and higher application temperatures than traditional flashing tapes. It can be applied to materials without primers or staples and bonds in surface temperatures from 0 to 176F (-18 to 80C) per AAMA 711-05. It even adheres to damp surfaces. To prevent moisture intrusion, the thin backing construction effectively conforms and seals around nails and staples with less buildup under the siding. This backing is also tough, resists punctures and tears, yet it is thin to fit conveniently into corners and under the siding. Proprietary construction will not liquefy, bleed, or melt in contact with many building sealants or in extreme summer temperatures. The split paper release liner provides fast application with easy and accurate positioning of the tape Recommended applications include: sealing joints around sills, jambs and heads of rectangular windows in wood frame construction; sealing around other wall interruptions in non-roof areas, such as thresholds, dryer vents and hose bibs; when installed properly as a concealed flashing in vertical walls in frame construction, it prevents moisture intrusion or water leaks and avoids the costly problems caused by water infiltration.

I didn't give 3M 8067 five stars because the backing tape is finicky. I had enough trouble with the backing tape failing to peel cleanly that I would estimate that the job took me 20% longer in order to contend with it. Without exception, when the backing tape did not release cleanly it was because it delaminated at the center score. When it happened, I had to fold back the tape and use my fingernail to dig out the unreleased paper. I found that, except when I was wrapping corners, backing tape issues were mitigated if I peeled both halves at the same time. With some practice, I could both hear and feel it when the backing tape began to delaminate, and then stop and deal with it before it became too difficult to correct. It's best to pull the backing tape in a slow and steady manner, keeping the "peel line" perpendicular to the edge of the tape. I noticed that some tape rolls were essentially free of backing tape issues, but that if a roll started bad, it was going to be problematic to the end. Inconsistent quality assurance?

It stick like creasy, hold on cold surfaces, stretch to do corners and seals for good.
Used it to seal the house wrap onto the metallic roofing at the wall-roof junction and it worked great.
Also used it around the windows prior to the exterior finish and once again it is there to stay and seal for a long time.
