Scale is nice size, nice readouts, but software is unclear and awkward to use

I got this to check my weight/details against my FITINDEX Smart Body Fat Scale and I thought I would prefer this one as it's larger and has a readout. And it measures in .1 increments. However, the app is awkward to read, at least in comparison to the FitIndex. It's hard to figure out what screen you should be on when you step on the scale, and if you're not on the right screen, it doesn't record. For the weight, they are both within .2 lbs of each other, so I didn't need to worry about the FitIndex, which sadly is not available right now, but when it is available, I'm going to get another one for a backup.

I love this scale. I had used a much more expensive Withings scale for several years, and was frustrated by its rapid battery depletion, regular loss of Wi-Fi connectivity, and difficulty re-establishing connectivity. Other than that, it was an accurate scale but with a very limited catalog of measurements. Enter the Arboleaf. At just under $30, I found it hard to believe it would be what I wanted, but the description and other reviews encouraged me. Attractive, easy to set up, and excellent integration with Apple Health. The iOS app is easy to use, it with its light gray typography, sometimes strains these old eyes (everyone, please; light gray against light color or white is a horrible design choice). And just like that, I have something like 14 body measurements that, according to my PCP’s office, are generally spot on or within 1-2% of their measurements. If I have a complaint, it’s that it’s difficult to discern the differences between the various Arboleaf models. I want to buy a couple as gifts, and this one is no longer available on Amazon. I wish the differences between their models were easier to determine.

Wow what a change from the white bathroom scale at Grandma's house! I remember as a kid we would stand on the scale and they'd give us the suitcases to hold to try and figure out if the bag was overweight. This scale would probably be able to do the math for you! Nah just kidding there's no setting for that... I don't think.... This is my first "smart scale" and I can't believe what it does. I now know things I never heard at the doctor's office like my bone mass, percent water content and an approximate age of my body. The only down side I find (why I gave it only 4 stars) is to get all the info generated you have to link it to an app on your phone and connect to the internet. I'm a bit old school about linking devices and sharing information with apps via internet. I did turn off all data sharing in the app, but you never really know what is really being kept private. There is a guest mode so you could take the readings autonomously each time you use the scale, but that defeats the purpose of tracking and looking at your weight and mass change. I got a special Prime Day price, so it was a good value intro to the "smart scale".

I have been exercising pretty regularly with "Camp gladiator" and over the past couple of years I have invested quite a bit in fitness related equipment. I have also done a couple of "CG Fit" sessions with camp gladiator where you take your body measurements (BMI, body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, water % etc etc) using the "In Body" machines at the beginning and end of a six week challenge. I have paid over 80 bucks for 2 of these so I thought it'd be neat to invest into a smart scale at home where I can take these measurements from the comfort of my home and more regularly. There are many choices on Amazon so I decided to read a bunch of reviews and finally decided to buy this one. It came packaged well, nothing too fancy. Once you put in 4 AAA batteries (which are included) it turns on and stepping on gives you a weight measurement. You have to install their app to get all the other measurements and metrics delivered to your app. Once I did that I found that a lot of these metrics are very similar to the numbers I got recently (2 months ago) from the inbody test. the BMI was close but PBF (percent body fat) was quite off. SMM (skeletal muscle mass) was also close to the last number. Weight is pretty accurate. I'm not sure which one is right and whats wrong but I have decided to continue using this at home and stay in one system and test regularly to see how I'm doing. I also got my other family members added to the scale and will measure their progress as well. Overall I'm happy with the functionality and ease of use of this scale.
