I spent quite a few hours on line researching what straightener is the best and why. I watched a few you tube video’s and it came down to this brand and one other. My straightener before was good and did its job, but it just wasn't quite what I wanted. This is the same brand and model my hairdresser uses and I've always loved it and she does too, so I made the purchase. I'm not sorry that I did! The plates are nice and smooth so your hair doesn't get as static-y and frizzy. One heat setting, but that's ok. I definitely recommend using a heat protectant spray. What I love is that i can touch the plastic part to kind of clamp down with my other hand if needed without burning myself. I couldn't do that on my older iron. Also, I love that it turns itself off after 30 minutes. Sometimes I forget to turn it off so that gives me peace of mind. Definitely worth the price!

It has now been 1 month, but GHD is so backed up with returns, they have not even opened the package. They said another 2 weeks before they can even open the package to process a warranty repair. It appears they have way too many issues.
