Perfect, Perfect, Couldn't have been better for our vacation
Our family of 3 went to UK for the first time ever for 12 days. We had the ability to do laundry at our AirBnB's so we only packed enough clothing for 5 days, including sweaters and swim suits. We spent a WHOLE AFTERNOON before the trip researching weight restrictions and carry on dimensions for baggage on international flights - we didn't want to check bags, as we had several bus and train trips scheduled, and we wanted to keep our stuff with us and easy to carry. We bought bright colors to see easily, and packed them as full as they would go.THEY WERE PERFECT.They were comfortable, and the heaviest pack (my husband's) came in under the 10Kilo weight easily, thanks to the lightweight construction. We never really got them wet, so I can't speak to that, but the elastic on the outside made it easy to attach an extra sweater, the zipper pocket on the top was PERFECT for our Ziploc bag of travel size liquid bottles (easy to take out for security), and the shoulder straps fit just right. We ended up having to RUN through a couple airports and train stations with these packs, and were so VERY glad we had them.Nothing broke. Nothing tore. Not too big, not too small. They are pretty, too, and our trip would have actually been much worse without them. Five Stars - would give 6 if I could. Great value, as they were less than $20 each.

This is my favorite backpack to take on airplanes because it’s very light and it can hold a lot. I’ve tried a lot of backpacks but they are either too heavy, too bulky or don’t hold enough. I like that this one can hold a lot when I have a lot. Yet when I have very little, due to the soft material, it’s compact and can easily fit under the airplane seat. I have other large backpacks that hold a lot just like this one but they are big and have to go in the overhead bin even if it’s half empty. When this backpack is half empty, it easily fits under the seat. I have other backpacks that are small enough to fit under the seat but they don’t hold as much as this one. It has a big interior pocket to hold a laptop. That pocket is not padded but that’s ok because I use it to hold my printed travel documents. I like that one of the pockets (in the top cover of the backpack) has a built in loop so I can use mountain clips to attach things that I don’t want to accidentally fall out like keys, airpod, etc. I just wish all the pockets had built in loops. I also wish the pockets had an organizer for pens, battery, etc. There are 2 pockets in the top cover and one exterior pocket. I manage to fit my battery, AirPods, sunglasses, keys, tissue, charging cables, medication, pens inside the 3 pockets but it’s a tight squeeze so would be nice if it had a couple more pockets. I also wish they offered solid colors like they used to long ago. Now they only carry paisley and a floral one. I have bought a total of 20 of these over the years for my family.

Stored my wheeled luggage and packed for a three day excursion to Norway. Wow, is this thing light and roomy. Pockets are great and felt very durable. And wow is it roomy. Ended up having to bring my laptop so that fit plus power cord and mouse. Two pairs of pants, a couple t-shirts, packable down vest, toiletries, umbrella, a couple books, socks, silk gloves, extra cotton blouse. Top pocket storage was great for putting a sandwich or pastry. Front pocket held my charger and sunglasses. I can not recommend this enough. I packed it in my carry on and planned only to use it for souvenirs to take home. But it worked out so well for my side trip. Much easier hauling on and off trains and ferries in Norway. And I think I could take it on a month's trip with no problem. Love this. If you need a packable pack that carry a lot this is great.

This bag tries hard to be what it isn't, but does what it does fairly well.
First off, I would like to say that this pack is most likely not a 40L pack. I would expect it to be a 30L pack, and even that is a bit of a stretch. That being said, you really shouldn't be expecting a collapsible pack to hold 40L of gear, and if you are putting 40L if gear in a collapsible pack, you are likely going to have problems.
For all the camping noobs out there: this is not a backpacking pack. It will not work for that. It doesn't matter how amazing your base pack weight is, it doesn't matter how many YouTube videos you have seen about ultralight, it doesn't matter how many books you read on the Pacific Crest Trail. You will hate yourself if you try to make this work. Why? Because there is no hip belt. You might be able to manage it, but it won't be fun, and you would be better off spending real money or buying a Walmart pack than trying to make this one work.
On the flip side, this makes a wonderful day pack for backpackers who intend on setting up in the same spot for a few days and wandering around. Though not as small as you would hope, this pack is small enough to fit into a 50l or 60l pack easily, allowing you to leave your normal pack in the tent while you day hike or bag summits.
Aside from the absence of a hip belt (which I don't hold against the pack), the pack is surprisingly nice. It has plenty of small pockets for quick access items, like gloves, maps, and a first aid kit. One feature which I think is funny is the presence of ice ax loops on the pack. Really? Ice ax loops? Who in their right mind would climb Rainier with this thing? Also, there are no horizontal tightening straps, so if you do have the poor sense to try serious mountaineering with this thing, you are likely to get thrown off balance, so you really are going to need that ice ax. Hope it isn't on your pack!
Fundamentally, this is a Chinese knock off. A series of features seen on western packs were thrown together and made collapsible. However, these features were thrown together fairly well. Or, at least, well for $20. If you want performance, go spend real money. If you want something that is small and good enough, this is a great buy. I have yet to regret it.
