I was looking for a fairly sturdy pair of nail clippers big enough for my 8 mo old pittsky. I got these in the mail today(a day early) and picked em up on the way home from work. Took my pup in the backyard and cut through all her nails no problem. She is pretty easy in general due to me always cutting her nails and touching her feet but gets bored quick and moves around a lot. They're very sharp which made the job quick and the guard is awesome because you can't cut em too short if they're black. I used some pb in one of her bones to distract her enough to use the file to dull out her newly sharpened weapons. Worked great. They feel sturdy and have a lock for when they're not in use. File worked well also which was a bonus for the cheap price. Oh. Lastly, the grip on them feels nice while using them. Very comfortable.

Replacement was better than the first

The first one I ordered was dull and didn't do a good job at cutting my dogs nails. He was upset, as was I. However by the reviews I figured I just got a faulty clipper and ordered a replacement. He was still scared from last time but this clipper was way better than the first and we were able to get through all his nails in a matter of minutes. 3 stars for the bad experience the first time but it's a great clipper all in all if you get a good one.

This works perfectly. I have a pitbull and usually just need 2 nails cut since we walk him multiple times a day. It’s easy to use, fits perfect in one hand, and does a great job at cutting the nail. Highly recommend

The clippers operate smoothly, has a normal sound to them, I do not know how to use the little metal piece behind the scissors and didn't see instructions on the packaging. The spring works pretty well too, they are way more ergonomic than my old pair. I don't have any other species of pet to try them on so I can't say how well they work on other animals.

They did seem to crumble my dogs nails a little, but he didn't alert to any discomfort/pain.

It's probably not an exaggeration to say this is going to save me hundreds over the lifetime of my dog. Groomers are getting expensive, plus tip, and you're rarely just getting the nail trim.

My last dog was great with the dremmel, but my new rescue is terrified of it. Maybe we'll get him there, but for now, I needed a silent option. When I got this pair of clippers I spent a week or two just getting him used to them. Every time they came out, he got a treat and lots of praise as I just moved them around his body, around his feet, put them down to let him smell, and never attempted to restrain him or get them on the nail. Eventually, he wasn't bothered by them and would prompt me to go for the treats whenever I had them out. Today was the day. I came over to love on him during his morning nap. Brought out the clippers and he was unphased. Let me clip a few nails before he started getting a little worried. I'll move at his pace since it's mainly just his dewclaws and front nails that need it right now.

Sharp, they cut through with ease. No noticeable discomfort from my dog. I'd read horrible things about other clippers not being sharp and just crushing the nail instead of cutting through - not an issue with these. These are easy to handle and cut easily. The guard is great but can also be moved out of the way.

Came as expected entirely, but they are rather large and I just bought these because of prime day when really I should have just bought ones I'm more familiar with. If you are as unfamiliar with this style of clipper as I am? They make me nervous to use on my cat. I think cat-specific clippers are better for cats, rather than this two-in-one. I nearly hurt my cat, who is rather small for a cat, trying to figure out how to use the safety guard. It seems to be meant for if you have a bigger animal, they won't knock your grip and have you accidentally cut way farther up? But honestly it looks like it would probably just throw it at a weird angle.

If you like this style of clipper and are used to this style of clipper or curious about it, go for it, but I just found this thing way too bulky and I'd rather buy the style I'm used to and give these away to a friend than accidentally hurt my cat.
