These are the most comfortable knee pads I have worn that are usable outdoors in a gardening context, unlike some of the fabric knee pads I have that, while very comfortable, are not suitable for use when kneeling in dirt and mud. The can simply be hosed off as they are made of all rubber/plastic/synthetic materials. And the rubber straps are much better than velcro or elastic fabric straps. Velcro doesn't last long for me, and elastic fabric straps get limp before long and no longer work for the purpose - frustrating when there is nothing else wrong with the knee pads. OTOH the rubber straps on these pads retain their elasticity until if and when they break.

The reasons they don't get 5 stars: 1) The straps eventually do break, and 2) more serious, the buttons that hold the straps also eventually break. BTW, when one of the buttons breaks I toss the pads but save any of the old straps that are still good, to use on another pair when a strap breaks on those. Of course you can always try to use them with only one strap, but they are not nearly as secure & stable on my knees with only one strap.

Bottom line: Even though they don't last forever (what product does?), they are so comfortable and durable enough in my harsh use that I will keep buying them as my old ones fail. They tend to last at least a year or two for me, so not too bad.
