The 2.0 version is about 2x as bright as the 1.0. I have two of the first rev’s and one of these. I’ll buy the 2.0 from now-on. Will try and get a quick video together in both of them side-by-side. I will say that the 1.0 is pretty bright and will last longer. Where I fish and hunt tho, if the battery dies on the 2.0 before I’m rescued... well I’m probably not writing anymore reviews anyway. I’ll add a bit of (possibly) helpful information as well. I generally use silicone grease on any electrical connection that’s on (or in) hardware when it’s going to be exposed to the weather or water (as these beacons are). I’ll put just a very minute dab on each connection. Of course in the case of the Rev 2.0, make sure you don’t get it on the outside of the light as this stuff is evil! Just wipe a tiny amount on the o-ring seals and then on the internal connections. I also put a dab on the battery ends as well. Just helps with ease of turning it on (without making it so slippery that it turns on if you drop it. Hope this all helps!
