I didn't think a burr grinder would be much different, but the coffee does taste better than the cheaper blender style grinder. It's a bit quieter and you can set the time to get a pretty consistent amount. The bottom surface is uneven which requires more effort when scooping all the ground coffee out; tilting, banging and what not.
