The whistle alone is worth the price. It is louder than any of my other name brand survival whistles. Small mirror works surprisingly well for signaling. Compass is fairly accurate and could be used as a back-up for my Silva, if needed. Thermometer is fairly accurate too. Only drawback with the light is that you have to hold down the button to keep the light on. Didn't have any luck with the magnifying glass, so I will use my Fresnel lens instead. Overall, a good investment for this lightweight, multi-use survival item.
