I was looking for a power strip that was affordable and had a great quality. This Tripp Lite's power strip was among the cheapest I had seen at Amazon.com, the reason why I chose this one over the others was due to the positive reviews. One of my fears was a potential fire hazard (which unfortunately is common between cheap power strips), since I didn't read any sort of this kind of complaints about this one, I purchased it.
I have been using this power strip for almost 3 months now. I have to say it is very solid, the chord is thick and very well welded into the base (which means you won't end up with a loose or damaged chord). Also, you really CAN fit 6 outlets in the base with enough space in between them.
Lastly, I would like to say that I use this power strip to organize the plugs clutter behind my TV stand, which means that I have it turned on during all times (with the TV, DVD and Wii always plugged in) and it has never overheated nor "sparkled" in any way, so I believe this product is completely safe.
I am satisfied with this power strip and I'd recommend it to anyone.
