A great loud whistle. No pea or ball in this which is what I was used to with whistles not that it was a problem. As a matter of fact I like it that it doesn't have anything inside it. This has a long lanyard and is perfect for emergencies. I also think it is a great item for anyone to have especially for the women who go shopping by themselves or at night. A blow on this whistle will send anyone away and draw attention. I rate this a 10+ for a safety item. At $2. and change every family should own a few of these.
