Customer Review

I had been using various types of lemon squeezers and never felt like I was really getting all the juice from them, not to mention it can be tiring when you're doing a lot at one time. The Proctor Silex is almost effortless, and I guarantee there will not be one drop wasted. After a few seconds on the motorized reamer, there is nothing left but the skin.
There is very little weight to the motor base, and the sound of it reminds me of the time I had to drive my 1968 Volksagen Beetle home with no clutch. The motor auto reverses at times - I'm not sure why or when, it just does it, and there are moments when it can't decide which way to go. WIth it being so lightweight, I don't know what the inner workings are made of, or how it can be so powerful and dependable, but it is. I use it regularly with no problems, and it does a great job.
I have only used it for lemons. It has a larger reamer for grapefruits that interlocks over top of the smaller one. A couple times I forgot to take that off and starting using it for lemons. It does not stay locked in place, and I doubt it would do a good job with a grapefruit, but in all fairness I haven't tried it yet. I just know it doesn't work with lemons.
All parts are dishwasher safe, except for the motor, of course. The ring that strains out the seeds and pulp is made of two interlocking pieces. They come apart for easy cleaning, but it can be tricky figuring out how to separate them.
I'm happy with this item. For lemons and limes, I love it even with the noise. It's fast, powerful and loud. I never hesistate to use it because I know it can all go in the dishwasher, and clean up will be a breeze.
