A lot of intuitive engineering went into making this cord. If you’re planning on using paracord for multiple different applications (like all of us do) then this cord will only multiply the amount of uses infinitively. I really thought it was going to be one of those “as seen on tv” inventions where it was an ok idea and poorly designed. NOT SO!! Use this as you would your normal 550 cord but let your mind go wild with the possibilities this cord offers. The tinder in there is dry but doesn’t crack and break which only adds to the strength. It’s dry and will light but not like cotton balls would. It’s more akin to a kinling substitute than a starter but it’ll do both jobs if it has to. The fishing line in there is said to be 25lb tst I believe. I think it is actually a hell of a lot stronger than that. I fish regularly and I’m a southern large mouth bass fisherman and I don’t think I have any line that strong in my box. You can just look at it and see it’s some solid stuff. Of course, when building a “McGiver” paracord one would not insert the light and proper fishing line for streams and brooks that you’ll be fishing in most likely; go ahead and add some heft to that line by pumping up the fishing line and you could even go larger and melt it down to use it as a sort of hot glue. My grandfather was a big time trapper and I need to brush up on my snares and trapping skills bc guess what, there’s a line in there just for that! If you don’t have a stream to use the fishing line in to keep you alive you can make some snares and catch your dinner that way. OMG, how long did these guys sit and stew about what all they could cram in this line that would actually be useful!? I should have give it five stars and actually I should change it to five stars but I just don’t hand out five stars willy nilly. I only give it four stars bc it is still not fully tested in my eyes and hasn’t gotten enough widespread notoriety to get out from under its “new invention” type status. Secondly, because of the MICRO amount of extra stiffness (which most of you will probably see as a plus). Due to the extra pieces inside the cord it is not as pliable as the standard 550 paracord. Not to worry about the flexibility; I tied multiple delicate knots using this cord. If it was TOO stiff I would have had a very hard time tying a lot of the knots I used. Overall, I don’t see why ALL paracord isn’t made this way. Good stuff guys!
