I love my plants. I don't love needing to constantly check their soil moisture, especially my hanging plants. I use these 24/7/365 on my dozens of house plants to keep them well-watered.
Some tips I've picked up using these:
1. Make sure you water your plant to its optimal moisture level before you put in the stake.
2. Don't let the water basin run out -- even for a day -- otherwise you'll need to re-soak the stake.
Some not ideal things I've noticed with these:
1. Sometimes, they randomly stop working. I'm not sure why. If you notice that you haven't refilled the basin in a while, check to make sure they're still working. This doesn't happen often, maybe once every few months among dozens.
2. I wish they were less expensive! It's clay, rubber, and plastic -- nothing fancy.
3. After a while, the rubber hose and basin will get a little slimy, probably due to algae or other plant-related discharge. I probably need to clean them more often!
