Absolutely great watch in terms of the capabilities, battery life and features. Absolutely terrible when it comes to long-term function. I've replaced this watch 2 times in 20 months, with the 3rd one already malfunctioning again. For a $500 watch, it has absolutely no long term value. If it lasted more than 8 months, it'd be an incredible watch, but there's no reason it shouldn't last normal day to day use for triathlons and weightlifting.
I've used my Polar m430 through every aspect of the military - deployment, field training, jumping out of airplanes and it's absolutely fine.
