I love the Red Rising series, so when I saw there was a game based on the books, I was ecstatic. I was not disappointed. The artwork is stunning, the pieces are well made, and the game is enjoyable. (I just have to keep a poker face so I don’t give away what cards I have in my hand—I can’t always control my reactions to the characters, whether positive or negative). I was able to teach the game to two sets of people who’d never read the books, and they picked it up well.
My only complaint would be that there are so many cards that it’s hard to get good combinations—most cards never come out of the deck. Still, overall, a fantastic game.
