When I saw someone on a trail using one of these I was so intrigued that I came home and bought one for myself. I never knew such a little (alas expensive) clip could be so useful! I have it attached to the shoulder strap of a backpack and use it mostly when hiking. I love that I don’t have to keep taking out and putting away my camera if I think there’s a chance that I’ll encounter something I might want to take pictures of. Obviously attaching a dslr + lens tends to weigh down the shoulder strap it’s attached to a bit, but as long as I fasten the chest-strap on my backpack when using this, it’s not a problem.

Pros: super handy and unobtrusive; installs easily and securely on nearly any strap as long as it’s ~2” wide or less; bulletproof metal construction (this thing is solidly built); the attachment that comes with it attaches securely to your camera and is very low profile so you can put it on and forget about it (also compatible with plate that is tripod compatible - double win!); release button is lockable if you’re afraid of accidentally releasing it

Cons: cost; tripod compatible mounting plate is sold separately; not ultra lightweight

In summary, you get what you pay for and it looks like this thing will last!
