We have a lot of digital and electronics in my house and most would be too expensive to replace if we had a power surge or a lightening strike. Every single thing in my house that needs protecting, from coffee maker to an expensive room purifier are all on Tripp Lite Surge protectors. I got this one to go on my bedside table. On my bedside table I have a portable house phone and a digital electric alarm clock. I also have a bedside lamp right next to the head of my bed. Since I live in a mobile home there is not much room to between beds and furniture. I had another surge protector for all the things I mentioned but it was so wide that it did not leave much room on my bedside table. I bought this one and because it is narrow it saved a lot of room on my bedside table so that I was even able to add a box of Kleenex to the table. Now I have all of the things I mentioned in the above plugged into this surge protector as well as my Kindle Charger is also plugged in. Everything is now more accessible and I don't have to move my bed to get to an electrical socket to plug or unplug my devices/equipment.
As far as the protection itself goes, in all the years I have been using Tripp Lite Surge protectors I have never lost one thing that was plugged into them--and we have a lot of power surges and storms here where I live. I find them very reliable and would always buy this name brand.
