Customer Review

I'd been using a non-Thunderbolt USB-C hub from Monoprice for ages to good effect. But I wanted to expand out to 3 monitors on a TB3 port with PD charging, and after enough research I decided to take a chance.

The 85W of PD charging means that I can leave the 130W brick that came with my Dell Precision 5550 in my travel bag. And unless I'm really running a bunch of stuff at the same time, the laptop stays at 100% charge.

Pros:
- It just works. 3 monitors (with help of HDMI splitter), 4 USB-A devices, Gigabit Ethernet, all without issue.
- 85W charging doesn't match my OEM 130W charger, but it's close enough and fits my needs.
- Gigabit Ethernet port is blazing fast.
- Downstream TB3 port is keys and allows for support for 3 monitors at high resolutions.

Cons:
- Feels pricey, but hey, it works. And it's in line with other such full-featured docks.
- Says it supports 3 monitors but you have to buy a (non-Anker) HDMI splitter to get that third monitor.
- Runs quite hot so I have to be careful not to leave it touching plastic.
- (For Audio geeks) The built-in headphone amp is quite weak compared to one off my laptop. Win10 won't let me use my laptop's onboard headphone port if this is plugged in.

All in all a good purchase. 4 stars.
