I have played every Consulting Detective set, and this may be my favorite. The writing is smart, the puzzles are fair, and each case is different and interesting in its own way. As we played through the 10 mysteries included, we appreciated the terrific variety in the types of crimes to solve and the kinds of characters involved. As always, the map, directory and newspapers are used throughout the games, and they are well integrated.
If you have played previous sets in this series, you may remember the poor copy-editing in the last set especially, and some of the cases there were absolutely broken. That's not a problem here. Each mystery is fully playable.
If "Baker Street Irregulars" is an indication of what future expansions will be like, with the same writing and puzzle design, my hope is that Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective runs for many more sets!
