Long review but worth your nickle and dime to read.
There are a lot of over-priced knives out there, many of which are folders and 3x the price of the kabar "zero tolerance 0350" a resounding 270$ folder. but the kabar truly stands to honor its name and place in history as being the famed and fabled american fighting/hunting knife.
i have thrown mine into solid plywood, made it stick and missed, dropped it on rocks, in the river, wacked tree trunks, dropped the knife tip-down on a rock even, it was weathered and dropped in freezing water, and still holds firm the beat of a drum, as indicated by the picture im posting with this review, it lost its showmanship sheen, and no longer a pretty boy by any account but a solid work-horse. me and my family are planning a backpacking trip to the continental divide in colorado near the winter of 2016 and i know this knife will come with me, and always be a faithful companion. always within easy reach,i having account experience with abusing it against the tests of nature and it hasnt let me down yet, i can fully vouch for the quality and durability of this fine steel. whether youre a knife aficionado, sporadic collector or just admire a full-tang blade. this knife is a must-own. its very easy to sharpen, i used a gritty river-rock on it and it rendered the edge serviceable for the rest of the afternoon. it takes abuse like a bull. this knife should be "the knife" you grab when something needs to get cut, shaved, "planed", whittled, drilled, "batoned", hacked at, or even killed. if need be. i haven't done any maintenance on the blade itself in terms of anti-rust proofing oil. i have used mink oil on the handle and the sheath, sporadically. thats all you really need to do.
