I am a big fan of ANKER products. I had very little to none problems with the brand and its support. However with this product is different. If you let the MacBook Pro drain the battery to 4%-8%, for some reason, after plugging the unit to the thunderbolt 3 port, instead of charging, it drains the rest!!!. I did notice this problem with my first unit, exchange it and have the same problem with the new. This may lead to damage your battery as it did with mine. So be carefull! I am not using it as I cannot return it at this stage.
Also as many reviews, this product is noisy and can get hot.
Update: After posting this review, I was contacted by Anker support and got an explanation of what is happening. In few words, if the dock is fully loaded with devices, if does not deliver max. Charge to the Mac Pro. So they did offer, on good faith, sending me a better one. I am happy to test the new unit and let you guys know how it works. I am increasing the rating only because of the support received !
2nd Update: I got from Anker a replacement unit which I found Excelent! Totally fit my needs in terms of power and best of all, no noise at all. Has more ports and wooping 85W of power. I do recomend this unit instead. It is bit more expensive, but worth every penny. Thanks Anker support!
