So, I don't know what to think about tech reviewers these days... they all seem to be sponsored now.
I got the Beats Pro Fit due to high reviews on sites by critics, rather than just individual input.
I have small ears that I frequently have everything pop out when mowing, etc. Pretty much only the Air Pods sit comfortably, or a Sony in ear monitor from 15 years ago. I wanted to try these out for their wingtips to keep them in and, well, extremely let down in every way.
2 stars for sound quality. They sound tinny and low quality, like I bought 15 dollar buds at a gas station when I listen to podcasts and youtube. Any standard speech. I did not try them with movies, but music was also a letdown. They were FAR worse than my Jbird Vistas in every way on sound quality. By far, these Beats Pro Fit are the worse audio quality of any bud I have tried in 15 years over the 50 dollar price point and these are 200. Absolutely terrible for audiophiles.
I kinda laughed when my dad said friends don't let friends buy beats, they are just so bad.
The music STARTED to approach something rich, but it was interfered too much with its attempt to be sound silencing. It seemed like there were supposed to be settings adjusted to bring out a rich sound experience, but the controls just weren't there and its automatic settings, terrible. I don't know if they are simply low quality like others have stated, or cannot live up to their potential with the software control suite.
It was the software control suite that people hate with Sony and Bose that prevented me from buying them instead...
1 star comfort. If I wear these for an hour everything about the experience is unpleasant. They are also the singularly least comfortable buds I have ever worn. They feel cheap and hard. The sound silencing pushes too hard into my ear instead of creating a seal. All in all, headaches and ear aches after very little time on these. I have never experienced ear fatigue this fast before.
3 stars fit. The wingtips seem to work, they aren't great and push the bud into an awkward angle causing more fatigue. But at least I didn't have to re-adjust when mowing the lawn, even if 1 felt a little loose. They aren't truly secure for my ear shape, which is small and shallow. But the wingtip did keep them in. I don't know that I would trust running, jumping jacks, going upside down in these, anything raucus, although that is their purpose.
4 star connectivity. Potentially 5 star controls. Connectivity has been superior to my Sony WH 1000XM4, WAY better than my attempt with the Seinheisser bluetooth headphones I had to replace last year with the WH 1000XM4s. The controls are superior to any other bluetooth I have had over the years. Definitely their best draw is their controls and connectivity/digital stability.
I just absolutely would not get them if audio quality is your first, comfort your second. Sound silencing is not important to me nor desired as it almost always compromises comfort and quality. I don't know why we have an obsession with pushing all sound out with IEMs when headphones are more prime for that. We need a good seal, a comfortable seat, and high quality drivers. Not a sound silencing air push into our ear drums to try to override our sense of external sounds.
The most comfortable listening experience to date were some open back Seinheisser wired headphones. A good quality listen, not the best, but exceedingly comfortable for endless listening and not feeling totally isolated and cut off from surroundings (I don't like not knowing what is going on around me, it makes me uncomfortable, I don't need a sensory deprivation music session in public places, I'll do that in my room to recharge).
Overall I give this product a 2.5 stars due to outstanding controls and connectivity. Although I will post as 2 stars as those weight FAR less than quality and comfort for me personally.
