Top critical review
3.0 out of 5 starsGreat tasting water but handle placement and other design flaws

Overall: If you can get past the cons below, the glass pitcher is visually pretty, silicon bottom a big help, and the water tastes great.
Cons: I have been using this (glass carafe) for a week now. Five pretty big cons to note: 1) Other reviews have mentioned, and I concur, that the handle placement is completely wrong. 100% spot on. Whoever designed this gave no thought to the weight placement when the carafe is full. Simply put, it is bottom heavy, so the handle needs to be further down to balance out the water weight (like a kid choking up on a baseball bat). I'm a petite fit person, but I need two hands to pour it, to not have the weight pull at your wrist/elbow or feel lopsided when pouring, 2) Also, another negative is the amount of force needed to open the cap where the little charcoal filter goes. Again, mentioned many times in reviews and 100% spot on. I had to use a butter knife to pry it off and could have seriously hurt myself if I had used a sharper knife, scissors or a fork to pry it loose. Not good at all, 3) The pitcher does not fit beneath the faucet of a regular sink. Again, basic design overlooked here. I keep an old-fashioned glass milk bottle beside the pitcher and top it off after I fill a glass. Annoying that this has to stay on the counter with the carafe, but otherwise you risk cracking it or not getting a complete fill if you try to wedge it under a faucet. If you have a deep sink or a farmer's sink, great. If not, use the side-jug fill technique., 4) Little plastic cover to the pour reservoir at the top is designed poorly. If you don't hit the far side of the flap with the water stream, it simply does not tip open and spills water all over the counter. The tilt design should be effortless with ease of filling without needed precision, 5) Lastly, the directions are pretty bad and the trouble shooting area on their site is incorrectly named in the included directions, so hard to find online. Also online does not address the most frequent Q of why a new filter is taking so long to fill (charcoal filter needs to be submerged in water longer so all air bubbles come out) . I have had products from Chinese brands with clearer end-user directions and better trouble shooting.
