Top critical review
1.0 out of 5 starsNothing more than a basic scale...

In sum, this product does nothing more than provide a weight. The rest of what it claims (e.g. body composition, fat and muscle measurement) is nothing more than an estimate based on your height and weight. At first I was skeptical about the low price. The technology to do a true body scan is expensive, and i have paid $20-$30 for body scans at gyms many times in the past. But i thought i'd give it a shot.
Second red flag was the app itself. It was so full of misspellings and grammatical problems. Understood it's a Chinese company and translating any language into English is not easy. But it seems a reputable company would pay someone to review the translation so it doesn't look embarassing to them.
Finally and most importantly, this simply does not do anyhting more than provide a weight and an estimate of the body comp details based on your height and weight. Example 1 - my son is a gym rat and routinely does body scans. He most recently did one today and it said his body fat was 13%. He has a ton of muscle and weighs a lot relative to his height because of the muscle, so his BMI is rather high. He tried my scale and it said his body fat was 25% which is not even close to accurate. Example 2 - after seeing his nonsensical results, i decided to test it. I did a full body scan, then drank 16 ounces of water (which weighs almost exactly one pound). I redid the body scan. The weight looked accurate - I was one pound heavier as expected. But looking at the body composition details, it said i had gained a pound of fat. Interesting as i had never heard of water turning to fat. I think this illustrates this is not an actual body scan, but takes your height and weight to come up with your BMI and then just does calculations from there.
