This flashlight is very bright. It recharges easily, but you have to remove the battery to charge it. I like how small it is, as it can easily fit in pretty much any pocket. The head swivels around so you can place it in your front pocket and swivel it 90 degrees, so you can see what you are working on. I really like it. I recommend it to anyone.

Always need more flashlights right? This one is really good in that it focuses the beam on a tight space especially well so if you need to light up a dark corner inside for a repair of at night under the car hood in a dark region, it's your godsend. It's hefty, solid metal construction and the pivot aspect at the tip is a really nice added feature. BUT (why it's 4, not 5 stars ...) - it has a chargeable battery inside you need to charge with the provided cord before using. Now, where to connect that cord to the flashlight? Instructions won't tell you so don't bother! I had to read reviews from other buyers to discover the port to charge it (the flashlight) is on the BATTERY itself, inside the flashlight. Well, I'd never heard of such a thing though apparently these have been around for awhile. I even pried off a soft rubber button on the flashlight outside thinking the port would be in there. Wrong. Worse, in doing so I think I damaged the flashlight, since this was the on/off switch under the rubber button. I did replace the button, charged the battery (once I knew how to do it..) and - nothing. Wouldn't turn on. So I returned it and got a replacement, charged, and it works just fine. But this design element of needing to plug the charging cord into the battery instead of the flashlight loses one star. Maybe I'm behind the times but some others based on reviews didn't know this either and I NEVER would have figured it out without having read the helpful reviews telling you how to charge it. Otherwise, great product. Next generation try putting instructions in the box (there's a leaflet enclosed but it's fairly useless..)

The Nicron B73R is quite nice, much better than I was expecting. Build quality feels really solid, the pivoting action of the head from straight to 90⁰ feels nice and smooth, the knurling and grey anodization with orange bezel looks fantastic.

The magnet in the tailcap is REALLY strong, the strongest I have seen on a flashlight. It can easily hold the light in a horizontal orientation. The tailcap is removed to access the battery and the negative spring terminal looks to be of good quality. Only the tailcap can be removed, the head cannot.

The UI is very simple and easy to operate. Single press of the button to power on into high mode, tap again for medium, tap again for off. I would have liked a third lower mode, or made the second mode lower. Both levels are fairly bright and there isn't much difference between them. This could be an issue if using as an inspection light up close. A lower output level wouldn't wash things out like the two levels it has might.

The emitter appears to be a LH351D and is a cool white color temp. The tint is a touch on the green side which would be consistent with that type of emitter. The beam is nice and floody with a bit of throw but not much. This is the beam profile that you want from a inspection light like this.

This is a dual fuel flashlight meaning it can run on a single 3.7V lithium 10880 or 2x 1.5V Alkaline AAA batteries. You can also run 2x AAA NIMH rechargable batteries. A 3.7V 10880 lithium is included with the light and it has an integrated USB-C port for charging. The battery has to be removed from the light to charge since there's no charge port on the lights body. This is pretty typical for thin pen lights like this and works well.

The 10880 battery is a fairly obscure size and replacement or backup may be challenging but there's a few vendors that carry them. Hopefully Nicron sells them as a standalone item as well. Thankfully you can just use AAA batteries if you lose or wear out the included battery so the light will always be functional.

There's also a pocket clip included on the light. It is not reversible or deep carry, but works well and clips securely.

Overall this is a really well constructed great looking flashlight with flexible battery options and great output for it's size. This one's definitely a keeper, I really like it!

The NICRON B73R flashlight has quickly become one of my go-tos lights for everyday tasks and outdoor adventures. Its small size and incredibly strong magnet make it surprisingly versatile. I can stick it to metal surfaces at any angle without worrying about it falling off, even on bumpy camping trips. The magnet is strong enough to hold the light securely, but it's also easy to detach when I need to.

The flashlight itself feels well-built and comfortable in my hand. It's small enough to slip into my pocket, yet it packs a powerful punch with two brightness settings, plus strobe and SOS modes. The high setting is almost too bright for close-up work, but it's perfect for illuminating a wide area.

One thing I really appreciate is the charging port. It's located directly on the 10840 Li-ion 700mAh powerful Li-ion Rechargeable battery itself, so there's no fiddly cover to deal with which are prone to allowing moisture into the light. The battery life is good, and the brightness is more than enough for most situations.

The swiveling head is another handy feature, giving me more flexibility in how I use the light. I've even used the flashlight with AAA batteries in a pinch, although it's not quite as bright as with the included rechargeable battery.

Now for a couple of minor drawbacks. The tail end is somewhat thick, so it might not fit in some pen holders. Also, the highest brightness setting can get quite hot if you leave it on for too long. But those are small issues compared to the overall usefulness of this flashlight.

Overall, the NICRON B73R is a fantastic little flashlight. It's bright, durable, and easy to recharge. Whether I'm working on a project or exploring the outdoors, this light has quickly become an essential part of my gear. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a compact and versatile light.

I own a lot of flashlights, and this one occupies a very special place, it's one of the most useful and functional of all of them. It has a lot of the features I love in a flashlight - magnetic cap, rotating head, lightweight, but powerful and great battery life. The size is perfect, it's a little thicker than a pen, and just a bit shorter.

FUNCTIONAL NOTE - This flashlight is rechargable with a USB-C, but it's the battery that's rechargable, you'll need to remove it and there's a port on the battery. Nothing in the instructions noted this, and I was incredibly frustrated trying to figure out how to charge it the first time. With that in mind, I really like this design. The flaps that cover charging ports often get broken or jammed with dust and/or dirt, it's just one less fail point to worry about.

I've used this to softly illuminate an entire room, it has plenty of power for its size. It's also compact enough to be worth carrying on a plane, which I have multiple times - a small flashlight when travelling almost always comes in handy, and this one is no exception.

If you're looking for a highly mobile penlight that won't let you down, this is the one. I own 3 other flashlights made by Nicron, and I've never had a problem with any of them, great brand.

Sadly, this light broke fairly quickly after I started using it. It seemed like it was going to be perfect for reaching into tight spots in an engine bay and the like. When I unboxed it I noticed that the swivel for the head felt a bit 'crunchy' like there was dirt or maybe broken glass in it. I have other Nicron lights and never experienced that. The others are smooth as silk. I didn't use it much and never in a dirty environment. It never even got to the garage to start working on cars. It had only been used inside while looking in cabinets and such.
I charged the battery to get it ready to use and tested it after replacing the battery and it was fine. When I went to use it a couple days later, nothing. I tested the battery and voltages are good. It just does not power on anymore. The crunchiness in the swivel seems worse. It's always been a concern of mine how long the swivels would last in my lights that have them.

Build quality and such seemed good but I can't recommend the light based on its dying so quickly in gentle usage. It's not an expensive light but I expect better for something at its price point.

It's hard to get across a sound on video but I'll include it anyways. The crunch is almost more felt than heard.

I always like having extra flashlights, as you never know when you might need them. We have frequent power outages, plus need to be prepared for hurricane season.
This light is a typical pen flashlight that is easy to hang from your shirt pocket, or in your pants back pocket.
The LED light is quite bright, and it is nice that you can select 2 levels of brightness.
In addition, in either bright or dimmer, you can put it on strobe or an SOS signal by holding the power button on. I did find the switch to be a little finicky, but after playing with it for a while got the hang of it.
The flashlight included a USB cord, which at first I didn't know what for. The instructions on the carton are pretty ambiguous and not very informative. Opening up the flashlight revealed a long AAA size Li-ion rechargeable battery rated at 700mAh that has a USB port at the + end for charging
In addition, an extra O-ring is included. The flashlight is nice quality anodized aluminum what looks to be water proof, although I'm not inclined to submerge it, but I think for most use, it will be fine in rain.
One nice feature is the rotating head that can rotate to 90 degree. Nice to have when working in small spaces and a straight in-line flashlight won't work.
Overall, pretty nice light to have. I deducted one star as the instructions could be a little bit more informative (especially for those who are not mechanically inclined).

This is a solid little flashlight with a really clever rotating head design that transforms it into a right angle flashlight. The light came with a custom battery that looks like, or is sized as, two li-ion AAAs together and it has a USB-C port on the side for recharging without a proper battery charger. The magnet in the tail cap of the light is very strong and snaps to any metal solidly, and they thoughtfully put a silicone pad here to prevent scuffing or marks. The single side switch turns the light on and off and cycles through the low, medium and high settings, however the button my unit felt a little mushy and I ran into a couple scenarios where my clicks didn’t register, so I have to be a little deliberate when pressing the switch, making sure I’m perfectly centered over it. The light has a good range of brightness and is fairly comparable with some of the brighter double AAA powered flashlights on the market, but the beam pattern is where it really excels; it has a great hotspot and some very nice spill halos that effectively light up my immediate area and this is probably one of my favorite features of the light. Overall, it’s a pretty versatile little penlight with excellent build quality and the right angle features makes it fun to use and easy to wear on body.

This is a nice pen-light *with a twist*

Okay you know I couldn't resist. If you know Nicron, they're best known for this series of lights where the head rotates from straight to right-angle. It's a handy feature, and Nicron does it well enough that it's worth the slightly larger size compared to either a dedicated straight or right-angle light.

My only complaint is that the light has a High > Low mode order. I'd much prefer Low > High. The included cell is one of those double-AAA-length Li-Ions that I've started seeing lately. It's my first experience with one, and it does just fine. The cell has built-in USB-C charging which I used without issue.
