Biography

NoteCARDS:

  • Selected by the Cardinals in the second round (55th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft and started 25-of-33 games played in his first two seasons (2022-23), totaling 110 receptions for 1,090 yards and four TDs.
  • Started 12-of-17 games in 2023, and despite not taking over as the team's #1 TE until Week 8, turned in one of the best seasons in franchise history by a TE. Led the Cardinals in receptions (81) and receiving yards (825) while also adding three TD catches.
  • Shattered the previous franchise single-season record for receptions by a TE with 81 (record was 56) while his 825 receiving yards were the second-most in team history by a TE (Jackie Smith - 1,205 in 1967). Finished tied for fifth among NFL TEs in receptions and seventh in receiving yards.
  • After taking over as the Cardinals full-time starter at TE in Week 8 of 2023, hauled in 66 receptions for 665 yards and three TDs. He ranked second among NFL TEs in receptions and third in receiving yards during that span (Weeks 8-18).
  • Had two games with 100+ receiving yards (none by AZ TE in previous 34 years) and two outings with 10 receptions (had never been done by Cards TE in team history) in 2023.
  • Had his first career 100-yard outing in Week 10 vs. Atlanta (11/12/23) when he caught eight passes for 131 yards. The performance came 34 years to the day since the last 100-yard outing by a Cardinals TE: Rob Awalt, 105 yards vs. Dallas on 11/12/89.
  • Winner of the 2021 John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end and earned unanimous first-team All-America honors as a senior at Colorado State. Also named the Mountain West 2021-22 Male Athlete of the Year.
