Arizona Cardinals' Hail Murray among semifinalists for best play at 2021 ESPYs

The Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins teamed up for one of the top plays in sports last season when Murray found Hopkins in the end zone for a touchdown as time expired against the Buffalo Bills in the famous "Hail Murray" play.

But was it the top play in sports?

Murray and Hopkins definitely think so. They have lobbied on Twitter for voters to vote for the play, which was among 16 plays nominated for the "Best Play" award at the 2021 ESPYS.

Their lobbying appears to be paying off.

The play has made it through two rounds of voting and is now in the final four.

It beat out Villanova quarterback Daniels Smith's touchdown pass against Delaware last season in the first round and defeated the one-handed interception by Clemson’s Andrew Booth Jr. last season in the quarterfinals.

Pretty impressive catch, huh?

The winner of the award will be announced at the 2021 ESPYS on July 10 on ABC. The sports awards show is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. that night.

Here's another look at the Hail Murray:

Another play involving the Cardinals is among the semifinals, although it is for a player on the opposing team.

It is the play where DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks chased down the Cardinals' Budda Baker in a game after Baker had made an interception and appeared headed for the end zone.

The other two semifinalists in the voting are from gymnast Simone Biles and the Marshall men's soccer team.
