This game doesn’t really have a story mode like 1 and 3 so I’m just gonna count my playing an irl 4 player game as “beating” it. It’s great. Old Mario party always is. Mini games are really fun. Yeah idk. Having only one item sucks but besides that it’s Mario party man.

It's sad to say, but the personality and love that Nintendo put into their Mario Party games peaked in this game, their second entry. The fact that the game centers around the characters performing a play, the idea that each board is based on a different story with each character dressing up, the fact that the winner gets a cinematic cutscene, all of these things add up to feel like the people behind this game REALLY loved it. Although there are still issues with imbalanced mini games, and some of the boards could be a little better, this game has so much heart in it that it's hard not to love.

Criticism:
-Some minigames too easily result in a draw

Easily the best party game ever created.

The first Mario party was a game that was very very rough around the edges and didn't exactly know where it was going Mario Party 2 however is a game that takes what was so good about Mario Party 1 and makes it all the better.

This game will make you hate your friends and family and that's why you play it. The controls are absolutely miserable, the game is entirely luck based, the characters can even get annoying at times. But all in the spirit of good fun, this game is bullshit.

Now if you want a game that is more skill based than luck based, don't play Mario Party 2. This game is the definition of not fair. But at the end of the day, you'll be laughing your ass off as your friend throws the controller at the TV.

The mini-games in this game are phenomenal, much better than those in the first one. The graphics have improved a bit, but nothing extraordinary. SUPER fun, and the practice sessions before the mini-games were a great addition.

I found the map a bit confusing, and the economy is totally wild, making the game somewhat unpredictable.

Despite that, the game is a great evolution of everything that was good in the first one.

(The different outfits for each board really got me!)
