An expanded game of Persona 3

Persona 3 Portable is an enhanced remake of Persona 3 for the PlayStation Portable. The game features an option to play as a female character, which alters some aspects of the story. In addition to the new playable character, there are two new difficulty levels to select from alongside the original game's three. The game also features some other story related changes regardless of the player character gender. The battle system is also updated to be closer that of Persona 4.

good things: you can now control the party, ten times more fun like this
bad: no real overworld, kotone's route feels undercooked (which sucks bc i love her), and it simply does not match FES modded with controllable party.

Far superior version of Persona 3. Combat is fun, this game has 2 good social links instead of 1 & FEMC is great. Music is great too. This time it's more about change rather than death. Absolutely fantastic. Also pink looks so much better than dark blue

Something something changed my life

Not my favourite version of Persona 3, but the first that I ever played. Hold tons of memories with this game, I'd recommend something like FES or the OG to people who want to get into it.

The social links carried this game for me. I enjoyed many of them a great deal. Feelings very had and tears were shed.

The other good thing about it is the music, pop/rap by Lotus Juice that for the most part is absolute bangers.

The story was ok, it had its moments. Some of them good some of them quite bad.

The gameplay holds it back a lot. Its all mementos from persona 5 basically. With worse quality of life. Without all the flair and presentation that persona 5 has. Which means it feels like a chore you have to do.

I've only ever played Persona 3 in this form so I have no clue what playing the original would have been like. However, I have played both genders' routes and thoroughly enjoyed playing as Kotone much much more. Her different bubbly attitude despite what she'd gone through was much more pleasing to me. Plus, many of her social links were so much more interesting than the male one that I honestly have trouble thinking of buying Reload because many of the original ones were so underwhelming.

I think this game really was one of my first exposures to the concept of accepting death, and because of that it altered little me's brain chemistry like krazy.

Besides that, the music is peak and I honestly love the randomly generated dungeon crawling. I've found this game super replayable and have played it multiple times ever since. I would still love to replay it now, more than a decade later. I love ya, P3P.
