A great game about enduring the struggles of reality and moving forward from past regrets. Certain parts of the game felt undercooked such as some dynamics between the party and musicians but overall it was very interesting with a great cast that had compelling and grounded struggles.

The music is of course excellent, every dungeon having their own songs with lyrics reflecting the respective musicians and party members associated with them. The presentation sadly is the weakest part of the game with how incredibly jank everything looks. The 2D artstyle is amazing though.

The ending surprisingly moved me in the way it managed to engage with and speak directly to the player (at least it did for me) whilst delivering a very sincere message of persevering through the various hardships and uncertainties in one's life moving forwards to the future.

All in all this was a great time.

This is a hard game to review for me because is the sequel to one of my favorite games ever. Gameplay wise this game blows the first out of the water, this time the graphics actually look good, it has its own unique visual identity, the combat was refined, the soundtrack just like the first one is one of the greatest of all time compose by real life vocaloid composers and former megami tensei composers and there is actually any level design this time. writing wise this game is an amazing addition to the series where it takes the themes of the first game and it expands on them with the same amount of heart and seriousness that the first game did but giving it a spin, while the first game was specifically made to be full of edge and angst this game is a melancholic look at the decisions we make and how they shape our reality from our gender, jobs, relationships and even weather or not we want to continue living. Though i think this game lacks some of the edge of the original and has the very strange decision of adding important lore in the post game (worst decision in the entire game) it makes up for it by being an amazing melancholic and uplifting game that has some of the highes highs of any game, special mention to chapter 6 which if you have played you probably know is one of the greatest moral debates i have seen on a game

Genuinely one of my favorite games of all time. Even though it has its share of flaws, the experience this game gave me is one I'll never forget.

game of all time. i'll probably make a proper review of this someday.
