Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

released on Sep 20, 2000

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 redefined an already great game. Its addition of stellar new features (like Create-A-Park), and great game-play tweaks (the manual maneuver will be copied for years to come) made it the best installment in a killer series of games. Anyone who has ever skated the Philadelphia level will agree -- this game is a masterpiece of level design. Hell, it's a masterpiece all around. There isn't a bad park or dull moment, just pure gaming nirvana!

Wonderful experience, defined a lot of my music taste. Still holds up great a true classic.

Moldou meu caráter e gosto musical.

Imagining who I could've been had I been born 5 years earlier and this was my first owned Tony Hawk game instead of Underground 2. Probably could've been a doctor instead of whatever I am now smh.

I think it's pretty well agreed upon that the mechanics of the Tony Hawk franchise didn't really get nailed down until the revert came about in Pro Skater 3 which I too agree with. Playing through a good few hours of Pro Skater 2 for truly the first time without said revert after mastering the Pro Skater 1 & 2 remake and just putting in way too many hours in almost every single one of these games from THPS4 onwards over the years and it's a completely different experience from anything I've played in this franchise before and it's amazing just how unbelievably refreshing the challenge is when just one mechanic is taken away. No doubt in my mind that this would've been my favorite game growing up as THPS 4, THUG, & THUG 2 were.

Only "beat" the game with Tony Hawk and Chad Muska but I can't even say that for I can't get higher than third place in the bullring because it's too hard for me lol. At least at this point. Seeing my progression from hour 1 to hour 10 of gameplay you learn that it's cool in the games after this to land a million+ point combo but have you gotten a PERFECT sound effect while doing a 360 kickflip in this one? The weight, feel, and the challenge of landing the most basic lines brings a kind of satisfaction unlike anything else I've felt in this franchise before. Now I fully understand the group that started to dislike the franchise the more ridiculous and less grounded it got. Especially because, and this is coming from someone who loves almost all of these, the open world structure has nothing on a solid & condensed two minute, in-and-out, arcade fire storm. The absolute best gameplay you can get out there.

Insane just how well this holds up. Wasn't expecting to think so highly of this entry with it still being in the testing grounds for the franchise/Neversoft but good to see that when stripped down to the bare essentials the formula is more or less perfect. Probably a 4/5 but I'll give it a 5/5 just because hell yeah.

Lo intente pero, quizás no es para mí.

Não tem o que falar da trilha sonora, definiu gosto musical
