Peak payne?
I had a pretty good amount of fun with this one. This game is meant to be played on a pc. I felt I had total control of Max the entire time, combat is tight for a 2001 game. Bullet time is awesome when it works in your favor and the writing is pretty damn good. Max's narration throughout the game combined with the sound effects and comic strips create for some of the most atmosphere I've ever felt in a game. I felt the first chapter of the game dragged a bit but the second and third acts ramped it up a lot. Felt badass blowing through the mansion near the end, the music was so good. Combat feels a bit dated but not really in a bad way, more in a way that it's a product of its time. Most of all, I love how fluid the game was with patches and upscaling. I never play games with keyboard and mouse but this was a first for me. I felt like I WAS max payne. The port is pretty ass on PC but once you get fan patches applied, it's smooth. Overall, it's worth a shot if you're interested and I'll definitely be checking out the other two games as well as the remakes that were announced!
